What is the COMPEX Scholarship?

The COMPEX (Common Educational Scholarship) is a merit-based initiative that provides financial support to eligible Nepali students who wish to pursue specific undergraduate courses in India. These courses are offered by some of the most reputed Indian institutions, including NITs, IIITs, and other universities recognized by the Indian government.

Nepali students can apply for the following undergraduate courses through the COMPEX Scheme:

  • BE/B.Tech (Engineering)
  • B.Sc. Agriculture
  • B. Pharmacy
  • B.Sc. Food Technology
  • B.Sc. Nursing

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the COMPEX Scholarship, applicants must meet the following conditions:

Age Requirements (as of 1st July of the current year):

  • Minimum Age: 16 years
  • Maximum Age: 23 years

🔔 Note: Applicants must have passed Class XII (10+2). Students awaiting results are not eligible.


Documents Required

All documents must be uploaded while submitting the online application. Ensure the following are ready:

  • Class XII (+2) Mark Sheet
  • Character Certificate from last attended school
  • Citizenship Certificate with English translation
  • Relevant pages of Passport
  • SBI Bank Voucher for NPR 400 (non-refundable)
  • Other documents as specified in the official notice

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted through the official online portal announced by the Embassy during the launch of the scheme.

Key Instructions:

  • Read all instructions carefully before filling the form.
  • Maximum of two courses can be selected.
  • For BE/B.Tech, students must select three streams in order of preference.
  • Select four preferred institutes from the list provided.
  • Once submitted, no changes are allowed.

⚠️ Note: Students opting for IITs, NITs, or IIITs must also qualify JEE (Main/Advanced), in addition to selection through COMPEX.


Selection Process

  1. Written Exam/Test: All eligible applicants will be invited for a qualifying test conducted by the Embassy of India.
  2. Admit Card: Sent via email to registered applicants.
  3. Final Nomination: Based on merit and test performance.

❗Nomination by the Embassy does not guarantee admission. Admission is subject to confirmation by the respective Indian universities.

Important:

  • Results of Class XII must be submitted within three days of publication.
  • An Equivalence Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) is mandatory at the time of admission.
