Education is a continuous process. This journey started when man was homeless and speechless and has now reached a state where man is searching for a home on Mars too. Nomadic Education: It was a time when nobody knew anything and man was his own teacher. He on his own learned how to hunt and travel. But he was no different from animals. Communication was just improving. His education was still unrefined! But he took the first step of transformation from an animal to a social animal.
Arts & Teacher: After hunting, he started learning art. carving monuments out of stones, drawing, making coins, and writing! He started spreading the word to the next generations. He was a teacher now to his own people. Every family taught their off-springs about danger, about arts, etc., Human beings started getting better and more civilized. By now he was a settled citizen.
Gurukuls: Local gurus used to teach every student of that area everything they needed to know while growing up. Arts, culture, language everything was a part of it. There were no divisions or branches in this education. Nevertheless, the concept of schools is stated here. People were taught everything and were made jack of all trades. Students who entered gurukuls at an early age used to leave it as complete person by their 20th year.
Divided Educational Institutions: Education started being divided. The ideology that a student can learn something better if the teaching is more specific, started to raise. Yes, this way more efficient and effective professionals were made. Students got the opportunity to learn deeper things they love. Education became more professional and civilized. By this stage, education was an important aspect of society. Engineering colleges, arts colleges, science colleges, home science colleges everything came up and education got a strict curriculum and ya, even a ministry!
Online Courses: Students started becoming teachers themselves and the internet started teaching. What started as parallel online courses slowly became mainstream education too! Other than mainstream online courses, Currently, online courses are the second highest caterers of education. But of course, online courses aren’t as effective as actual institutions.
Next: The ongoing period is of semi-digital education. More effective classroom education combined with more efficient digital processes.
