Funds to show = unpaid first-year tuition + maintenance for up to 9 months. Maintenance depends on where your university is located. If you have paid a deposit or part of your fees, that amount is deducted from the tuition you must show.

Rules That Catch People Out
- 28 days: funds must be held for 28 consecutive days, ending within 31 days of your application
- Whose money: yours, or a parent or legal guardian's with consent and proof of relationship
- Accommodation paid to your university: up to one month's maintenance can be deducted
- Short courses: maintenance is for the number of months of your course, up to 9
- Loans: a qualifying education loan letter can replace savings
